Princes Highway Duplication- Waurn Ponds to Winchelsea
Client: Vic Roads / Cut and Fill Pty Ltd
Newcomb Sand and Soil (NSS) in April 2013 were awarded the Cartage and Recycling Agreement with Vic Roads major contractor Cut and Fill Pty Ltd on the Princess Hwy duplication at Waurn Ponds near Geelong.
The task was to remove some 7000 tonnes of Asphalt and Basalt Rock from the existing highway in a short period of time whilst traffic flow on this very busy section of road was not to be impeded.
Loading was carried out by an Asphalt Profiler and the product was taken to NSS new Recycling Centre at Point Henry, where these products will be screened and crushed to be re-used in industry as asphalt profiles and NDCR crushed rocks.
NSS Operations Manager Chris Dunoon was delighted that tonnes of asphalt was moved in such a short period of time, with no disruption to traffic, and with no incidents or injuries to employees or contractors.
Newcomb Sand and Soil works with a variety of contractors and businesses on projects, supplying high quality materials and equipment.
